REGULATIONS – Lesson 5

Nuclear gauges used for industrial applications contain large activities of radiation necessitating careful oversight to ensure proper radiation safety practices and security measures are all diligently observed. The Code of Federal Regulations covers all regulatory aspects of nuclear gauges and radiation safety.  The RSO must be familiar with each section covered under the laws detailed therein.  This lesson covers all parts and sections of code.  You are encouraged to mark your copy for future reference as well as facilitating passing the test at the end of this lesson.

RSO SPECIFIC TRAINING – Lesson 4

The RSO is specifically responsible for watching over employee dose, training, inspections, emergency actions, proper radwaste disposal, and ensuring all elements of a radiation safety program are implemented and functioning properly. This section addresses each of these specific areas.

NUCLEAR GAUGES – Lesson 3

NUCLEAR GAUGES – Lesson 3

This lesson presents all the requirements for legally possessing, operating, and maintaining nuclear gauges at your site. Regulations are very specific as to how they are to be handled and cared for. This lesson will cover training, operating and emergency procedures, signage, security measures, shipping, radiation safety and more. As the RSO, you are completely responsible to ensure all requirements are met. A successful RSO will know these criteria exceptionally well and ensure all radiation workers/users respect the rules and procedures to avoid unnecessary radiation exposures from occurring.

RADIATION SAFETY – Lesson 2

This lesson contains nine topics regarding radiation safety. Promoting, maintaining and ensuring radiation safety is very central to the role of a Radiation Safety Officer (RSO). The RSO position carries a very high level of responsibility for personnel safety and company liability. They should, therefore, be knowledgeable, reliable, and empowered to act in the best interests of everyone involved.

RSO COURSE INTRODUCTION – Lesson 1

RSO COURSE INTRODUCTION – Lesson 1

This lesson introduces you to the RSO course and your instructor. You’ll learn why this course is necessary and how to navigate through the lessons and quizzes on a self-paced basis. It additionally provides a rudimentary overview of Nuclear Gauges, Safety Culture, RSO Duties and Responsibilities, and a homework assignment.

A short quiz follows this lesson that you’ll need to pass with a score of 80% to proceed further.  This will be the easiest test of those you will take later on.  If you think this is too easy, just wait, it will get harder as the lessons progress.  Even so, all tests are open book, so if you take good notes and truly take the time to learn the lesson material, you’ll do well.  You are allowed to retake the quizzes as often as necessary in order to pass.  We are more interested in seeing you learn the materials

This course is largely video-based, so you will see the instructor presenting his materials exactly as he does in person.  You will receive the same level and quality of training as in the onsite or special venue trainings that Radiation Solutions conducts each year.

The self-paced training facilitates your schedule as time permits.   This course normally takes two full days when delivered via webinar or in person in the live sessions,  If your schedule can only facilitate a little time each week, we would encourage you to be as consistent as possible with a normal routine of learning so you can remain focused.

Be sure to view at your personal profile in the upper right hand part of the screen.  You’ll be able to see your course progress, test scores, available options, material pdf’s you can print, contact information for free coaching and more.

Good luck!
